Jaime L. Smith, President/CEO
Attorney Jaime L. Smith has dedicated her entire legal career to representing injured workers in the Central Valley. In 2011, she joined the Law Office of Wm. Todd Berry as an Associate Attorney and in 2016 was named a partner, and the firm became Berry, Smith & Bartell. In 2020, Ms. Smith became the managing partner of Berry, Smith & Bartell’s Bakersfield office. Later in 2024, Ms. Smith formed J Smith Law, PC and became its President and CEO.
At J Smith Law, PC, one of Ms. Smith’s primary goals is to provide dedicated and thorough legal advice and representation to those who have been seriously injured in their place of work.
Jaime Smith holds a B.A. in geography, and graduated magna cum laude from Sonoma State University. She received her Juris Doctor, with highest honors, from Golden Gate University School of Law. While at Golden Gate, she was regularly placed on the Dean’s Honor List, and she received several Witkin and CALI awards. Ms. Smith’s past legal experience also includes interning at a consumer bankruptcy firm and at Bay Area Legal Aid.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Andrea Lopez, Associate Attorney
Andrea Lopez joined Berry, Smith & Bartell in 2016 as an Associate Attorney and later joined Jaime Smith when she formed J Smith Law in 2024.
Ms. Lopez earned a B.A. in History and English from California State University Bakersfield and her Juris Doctor from Whittier Law School in 2009.
Ms. Lopez’s prior legal experience includes defending workers’ compensation claims as an associate attorney with Mullen & Filippi. She also had her own firm where she primarily practiced criminal defense.
She is currently the Mock Trial Coach for Centennial High School.
